Kids Coloring Competition

On Saturday, July 27th, PPMK hosted a coloring competition for the local children of Bantul. Over thirty kids participated in the competition, arriving that morning with markers and crayons in hand. For nearly two hours, the competitors peacefully and efficiently colored their artworks with strong determination and big smiles. Throughout the morning the children were given snacks along with a free lunch. The kids had a great time together, joking and laughing while coloring away. While each and every design was colorful, detailed, and vibrantly youthful, a few artists blew us away. Four finalists were awarded from the younger age group and two were picked from the older age group. The older pre-teens never stopped coloring, while simultaneously giggling and posing for pictures the entire time. The winners were awarded trophies and new school supplies as prizes. Not only was this event a fun and engaging activity for the children to participate in, it worked to bring the children of Bantul together while creating space for them to be creative. The event was a major success! Thank you to everyone who participated and everyone who helped make the event run so smoothly!
